Lamb got drilled by the referee.
CeeDee Lamb's Sideline Collision With NFL Official During Cowboys-Rams Game Was Scary originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
With Micah Parsons still going through contract issues with Jerry Jones, CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys made their way to Inglewood, California, to face the Los Angeles Rams.
Lamb, already cementing himself as one of the Cowboys' best with four Pro Bowl selections, was notably out for the 2025 NFL preseason opener. The same goes for starting quarterback Dak Prescott and Parsons.
But that still didn't stop Lamb from giving the Dallas faithful a scare.
NFL Ref Runs Into CeeDee Lamb
With 11:35 remaining in the second quarter, the Cowboys' backup quarterback, Joe Milton, attempted a deep pass to wide receiver Jonathan Mingo. As the ball was flying through the air, Lamb got ahead of himself and started celebrating early.
Then, the sideline referee who was following the play ran into the back of Lamb, sending both of them flying to the ground. In the end, the pass fell incomplete, and a defensive pass interference was called, as was a sideline interference on Lamb. More importantly, Lamb appeared to be okay.
"This happened right in front of me," the commentator said.

Losing Lamb Would Be A Major Blow
While Lamb didn't suffer any apparent injury after the collision, the thought of losing him is a painful one for Cowboys fans. The former Oklahoma Sooners wideout has consistently been Prescott's best pass catcher since joining the NFL in 2020. Through five seasons, Lamb has recorded 496 catches for 6,339 yards and 38 touchdowns, setting numerous franchise records in the process.
If Lamb were to miss time, Jones invested in a backup plan over the offseason. In May, he acquired George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a few draft picks. Pickens has proven to be a top receiver in the league as well during his three years in Pittsburgh, maxing out at 1,140 yards during the 2023 season.
