Connor Zilisch Transported to Local Hospital After Victory Lane Fall

Connor Zilisch won Saturday’s Mission 200 at the Glen after leading 60 of the 82 laps on the 7-turn New York road course, the 23rd race of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule. After climbing out of his No. 88 Registix Chevrolet Camaro, the JR Motorsports driver and current championship points leader slipped on the roof and the window net where it lays on the door frame, and fell onto the floor of Victory Lane at Watkins Glen International. Zilisch was attended to immediately by on-site medical crew, taken to the infield care center, and later transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

“Connor was speaking with medical personnel, so they were swiftly on the scene here,” reported Dillon Welch of The CW Sports. “Both folks, right here in Victory Lane and then the trackside /medical group that drove the medical golf cart in, they are loading him on a backboard right now and going to put him on a cart and I believe take him in to the infield medical center just for more evaluation, but did get confirmation he was speaking with the medical folks, and that’s the only thing we can say at this time.”

NASCAR and JR Motorsports provided an update that Zilisch was “awake and alert” when he was loaded into an ambulance to be taken off-track to a local hospital after his infield care center evaluation.

“Just praying for Connor right now that he’s okay,” shared Mardy Lindley to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, crew chief for Zilisch. “I think he’s going to be fine but he’s on his way to the hospital right now for evaluation.

Jim Zilisch, father of Connor Zilisch, shared on social media further updates.

“Connor is conscious and back to himself and in the infield care center,” said Jim on Facebook. “Off to hospital for further evaluation but is not in any danger. Will update more later this evening.”

The 19-year-old won his sixth race of the Xfinity Series season, the most of any current driver, and sits first in the regular season championship and holds the first seed for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs.

UPDATE (9:59 p.m. ET): Connor Zilisch provided an update on social media regarding his health and current condition.

"Thank you everybody for reaching out today," Zilisch posted on social media. I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse."

Zilisch finished eighth in Friday's Mission 176 at The Glen in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He qualified 25th for tomorrow's Go Bowling at The Glen for what was scheduled to be his fourth career start in the NASCAR Cup Series, but Trackhouse Racing announced that the team would withdraw his car from the field.

"Trackhouse Racing has elected to withdraw the No. 87 Red Bull Chevrolet from tomorrow's NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International," said the team in a social media post. "We wish Connor a speedy recovery."
