Fletcher joined The Jim Rome Show over the weekend to continue his role as Commanders analyst, sharing unfiltered thoughts on last year's 55-23 loss in Philadelphia to coach Nick Sirianni's Eagles.
Fletcher appears to have big expectations for the 2025-26 team based on his comments to the long tenured sports talk show host.
"They split the regular season, Philadelphia and Washington, and then Washington put it to... Philadelphia put it to them in the NFC Championship Game...Has Washington closed the gap?" Rome asked Fletcher.
"I think from a personnel standpoint they've definitely closed the gap," Fletcher said to Rome. "You know Philadelphia, they're the defending Super Bowl champions so you have to give them their due respect, I know the score of the NFC Championship Game was kinda lopsided but it kinda got away from us with some turnovers at one point, I think late in that second quarter."

Fletcher called the Commanders' turnovers "uncharacteristic" and made a claim about this year's team.
"I think we're closer to them than the NFC Championship score indicated," Fletcher said.
