The Indiana Fever were dealt a major blow to the roster ahead of a matchup against the Chicago Sky.

Indiana has won five of its last seven games, finding unexpected success without Caitlin Clark. Though they have lost two straight this week to the Los Angeles Sparks and Phoenix Mercury.

As they head into a matchup against Chicago, the Fever announced the loss of two members of their backcourt, Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald.

Both players have been ruled out for the remainder of the season after being injured in Thursday's loss to the Mercury. McDonald suffered a broken bone in her right foot, while Colson suffered a torn ACL in her left knee.

After the news was released online, teammate Aliyah Boston took to social media, sharing her reaction, while sending a message to both Colson and McDonald.

"We got y'all bookies," Boston said.

Colson and McDonald are both playing in their first season with the Indiana Fever. McDonald was added to the team roster during the season while Colson was an offseason addition for Stephanie White.

Throughout her first season with the Fever, McDonald has posted 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. Colson has been serviceable for the Fever, averaging 2.4 points, 0.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston (7) comforts Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22).

Throughout her third season with the Indiana Fever, Aliyah Boston has posted 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

Boston will now have more responsibility in the Fever lineup, having already picked up broken pieces for Caitlin Clark, who has played just 13 games this season.
