Caitlin Clark Expresses Disappointment With WNBA After Suffering Injury

Clark Clark was honest about her disappointment

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark hasn’t had the season she imagined, missing 19 games so far due to multiple injuries.

Back in May, during a game against the New York Liberty, she suffered a left quadriceps strain. She returned in early June, but in a late-June matchup with the Seattle Storm, she sustained a left groin injury. That wasn’t the end of it. The former Iowa Hawkeye returned once again, only to re-aggravate her groin in a game against the Connecticut Sun.

Clark remains day-to-day, and her return appears to be nearing. Until then, she’ll continue supporting her teammates from the bench.

Meanwhile, on Friday, she guest-starred on WNBA legend Sue Bird’s podcast, "Bird’s Eye View with Sue Bird." At one point during the episode, Clark expressed her disappointment in the All-Stars for not giving their all in this year’s All-Star Game.

“That’s why I was excited to play in the All-Star game because I was like, ‘oh, yes, like I'm just gonna get some clean, like free looks like dribble in,'" Clark said. "... I wish we would have tried harder this year, honestly, to make it a little more fun… It's hard because we don't really get a break, and it's just like, you know."

Clark was unable to play in this year’s All-Star Game due to injury, but she was still on the bench after earning a record-breaking 1,293,536 fan votes—the most in league history.

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year did play in last year’s game, though, when the United States Olympic team faced off against the remaining All-Stars in an exhibition before heading to France. The effort was clear in that one with the remaining American All-Stars out to prove they should have been given a spot on the Olympic team.
