Atlanta Dream won their matchup against the Chicago Sky with a score line of 86-65, improving their record to 19-11 this season and holding the second spot in the Eastern division of the WNBA.
Brittney Griner was missing yet again from the game. This is the third game she has been kept out of the main squad due to her neck injury, but fans will love to hear that things are now looking good.
She was kept out of the roster on Thursday just for proper healing. Because she was already game-ready. She warmed up on the court and practiced some pretty intensive drills that involved "running" and "cutting".
"Brittney Griner is going through some pretty intense shooting drills that involve running and cutting before the @AtlantaDream face the @chicagosky ." Kylen Mills wrote on X. "Griner has been ruled out tonight with a neck injury, but she has been shooting for a while out here."
This means she could be back very soon, probably even in Dream's next matchup against the Phoenix Mercury on Monday.

Coach Karl Smesko was very happy with the team's performance against Sky. Angel Reese's team led completely through the first half. The score was 28-34, and it was during the second half that things turned around.

"I think we have a lot of great players and when they get an opportunity out there, they usually make the most of it," Smesko said postgame.
"J.C. has been playing great. Obviously, we've already talked about Leash playing at an MVP level, but you need those players off the bench to give you a spark, and today it was Nia. Nia was fantastic". He added.
