Alyssa Thomas has established herself as one of the most consistent performers in the WNBA for more than a decade. Thomas, 33, is playing in season No. 11 of her WNBA career.
After playing 10 seasons for the Connecticut Sun, she was sent to the Phoenix Mercury ahead of the 2025 WNBA season via trade. Despite her new home, Thomas has maintained her consistency, scoring in double digits in all but two games this season for the Mercury.
While one of the main storylines any time the Mercury face the Indiana Fever is DeWanna Bonner facing her old team that she unceremoniously departed earlier this season, Thomas stole the front page of the news back from her teammate.
WNBA Announces Historic Performance by Mercury's Alyssa Thomas vs. Fever
Thomas was undoubtedly the star of Thursday night's game, dropping 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists on the Fever, leading her squad to a 95-60 thrashing of the Caitlin Clark-less Fever.
In the process, Thomas made history, as she became the first player in WNBA history to record three straight triple-doubles.
The WNBA was quick to announce the historic performance on their official X account.

While Thomas has had a tremendous career, finishing in the top-10 in MVP voting four times as well as being named an All-Star six times, doing something no other WNBA player has ever been able to accomplish says a lot about her talent.
Diana Taurasi never accomplished this feat. Clark hasn't been able to do this either. Even Candace Parker never tackled this incredible feat.
This also comes on the heels of Thomas breaking Parker’s record for the most games with at least 20 points, at least 10 rebounds, and at least eight rebounds in WNBA history (6).
Thomas has her Mercury playing some of their best basketball at the right time. They've won three straight game and find themselves tied with the Atlanta Dream for third place in the standings (19-11).
Thomas is also attempting to seize an individual opportunity late in the season. With MVP favorite, Napheesa Collier (minus-380) sidelined for at least two weeks with an ankle injury, Thomas is doing everything possible to win her first MVP award of her career. As per FanDuel Sportsbook, she currently stands as the second favorite to win MVP at plus-260.
