Chicago needs to make a change.

The Chicago Bulls are set for another interesting season, and their next moves could determine what the future holds.

Since making the playoffs in 2022, the Bulls have had three straight play-in appearances end without a spot in the playoffs. After losing again last season, the Bulls haven’t made many changes thus far in the offseason.

While the team drafted Noa Essengue and inked Billy Donovan to an extension, there hasn’t been much news out of Chicago. Still waiting on Josh Giddey’s restricted free agency to be resolved, the Bulls will have some decisions to make when all is settled.

While the Bulls have made some big trades in the past, they hadn’t been ready to give up on one of their recent draft picks. However, it might be the right time to part ways with Patrick Williams.

As suggested by ClutchPoints’ Enzo Flojo, the Bulls should heavily consider dealing the “perennial what-if.” Since arriving in Chicago in 2020, Williams has always been a guy who Chicago has been waiting to see take the next step.

While he has given the team a solid presence at forward and is a good outside shooter, he has never developed into the player the Bulls were hoping for when they took him in the top five. With the hopes of a breakout likely gone as he gets set for year six, Williams might be better off hooping in another city next season.

Although it might not be easy to dump the remaining four years and $72 million of Williams’ contract, all it takes is one team to still have some belief that the Florida State product could be the right fit.
