There's been a lot of talk regarding San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama ever since he became part of the NBA in 2023. With his potential, many expect him to become one of the best players in the league. Fortunately for the Frenchman, even his peers believe in him, including Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo talked about the younger star during an eBay live stream. The conversation started about what Wemby memorabilia he'd love to have in the future. Although the Spurs star has just finished his second season in the NBA, he's already had significant achievements.

Antetokounmpo Believes in Wembanyama's Potential

During the broadcast, the 2021 Finals MVP was asked what a great career investment would be. According to Antetokounmpo, acquiring Wemby's rookie card would be a commendable move since he shows notable potential.

"I want Wemby’s first rookie card ever," the Bucks star said.

Antetokounmpo even mentioned Wemby in the same breath as future Hall of Famers like Stephen Curry and LeBron James.

"I think he’s gonna be one of the best players in the league in the next couple of years. I think he will have a very great career moving forward, so maybe like a jersey, his first jersey or his first basketball shoe when he played his first NBA game, or the first ball that he played with and scored his very first point. You gotta go with Wemby, Steph (Curry), LeBron (James), MJ (Michael Jordan). Those are great investments.”

In just his second season, fans and players alike have recognized the potential that Wemby has, especially defensively. The Spurs star led the league in blocks per game not only in his rookie season but also in his second year in the league.

Given the time Antetokounmpo has spent playing against Wemby in his first two seasons, he believes he can be a difference-maker, just like other all-time great players.
