Sophie Cunningham Had Two Words for WNBA Legend Diana Taurasi on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever are 17-12 entering the final third of the 2025 WNBA season. Even with star guard Caitlin Clark only playing 13 games, Indiana has the fifth-best record in the league. It is only 1 1/2 games behind New York, which leads the Eastern Conference standings and has the league's second-best record.
A big reason the Fever have stayed afloat without Clark is their strong offseason moves. Those included hiring coach Stephanie White and adding veteran forwards Natasha Howard and Sophie Cunningham.
Cunningham spent the first six seasons of her career with the Phoenix Mercury before being traded to Indiana this past offseason. She is averaging 8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this year.

Taurasi was a league MVP, an 11-time All-Star and a 14-time All-WNBA player during her career, which was spent entirely with the Phoenix Mercury who selected her No. 1 in the 2004 draft.
Cunningham, who appeared in one of the pictures in the post, had two words for Taurasi in the comments.
"the BEST. ❤️," Cunningham wrote.
