Shedeur Sanders Misses Training Yet Again
Sanders sat out team drills on Saturday due to arm soreness, the Browns announced. With Sanders sidelined and Kenny Pickett still limited by a hamstring injury, veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel handled the bulk of the quarterback reps.
According to ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi, Sanders was seen running sprints with wide receivers late in practice, a positive sign that he’s close to returning. With Sunday as an off day, he got extra time to recover before Monday’s session.
A fifth-round pick in the 2025 draft, Sanders has been battling for the starting job but hasn’t gotten many first-team reps so far. Pickett noted after practice, “When you’re not competing, you’re losing ground. Me and Shedeur have to get back out there.”
With the preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers looming Friday, Cleveland will be keeping a close eye on its quarterback room, which remains very much unsettled.
