The relationship between Real Madrid and La Liga has reached a breaking point once again, with no sign of peace on the horizon.
In fact, according to MARCA, the tension between both parties has become even more intense following a heated exchange between Real Madrid’s official media channel and La Liga president Javier Tebas.
What was once a cold relationship is now completely fractured. Friction began to build last season, when former coach Carlo Ancelotti warned that Real Madrid would not play if they were scheduled with less than 72 hours of rest.
The situation escalated during the Copa del Rey final, when Madrid decided to train at La Cartuja and skip the usual media obligations, which is an act that clearly showed how distant the two sides had become.
Season kicks off with fresh dispute
The latest conflict has been sparked by La Liga’s refusal to delay Real Madrid’s opening fixture of the season.
The club requested more time to prepare, pointing out that their players had barely two weeks of rest after being involved in the Club World Cup.

Despite this, both La Liga and the Spanish Federation have insisted that there is no justification to move the match beyond August 19.
Real Madrid, supported by the AFE (Spanish Footballers’ Association), maintains that beginning the season with such limited preparation is unacceptable.
Tusle between RMTV and Tebas
The club escalated matters through its official channel, with RMTV stating that the “2025-26 La Liga season begins flawed, altered, and manipulated.”
La Liga president Javier Tebas wasted no time in responding via social media, defending the league’s stance. However, instead of calming things down, his remarks have only added more fuel to the fire.
The standoff continues to grow more hostile, with neither side showing any intention of backing down.
