Back-to-back: Wynford crowned County Meet champions for second consecutive season

It wasn't exactly the score the Royals were hoping for, but it was enough to comfortably defend their Crawford County Meet title.

GALION - It wasn't exactly the score Wynford was hoping for entering Tuesday's Crawford County Meet.

But a 202 was enough to see the Royals defend their title and beat rival Colonel Crawford by 28 strokes. This came one day after Wynford placed third in a loaded field at the Findlay Lady Trojan Invitational at Sycamore Springs — where districts are held — powered by Caroline Sheldon's 79.

She was medalist at Valley View in the battle of the four county teams carding a 48, teammates Rylee Robinson and Willa Johnson were second and third at 49 and 51, Maggie Ridge fifth overall at 54. Maradath Engler's 63 was the drop along with Eili Wolfe (78) and Breylee Clark (78).

Wynford defended its County Meet title with a score of 202.

Colonel Crawford (230) was led by Sydney Furr's 55, Peyton Rowlinson carded a 57, Rylie Hoepf 58, Norrie Plank 60; Layni Rush (69) and Lilly Appleby (77) the drops.

Buckeye Central shot a 252 for third place honors; Logan Sullivan (52), Ava Presler (65), Charlotte Betts (65), Charly Milligan (70), Keerstyn Dion (72), Lily Presler (76), Isabella Martin (76), Noelle Martin (76), Phoebe Dallas (76).

Galion (268) was fourth; Kylee Crager (55), Norah Blevins (67), Peyton Lyons (72), Callie Bennett (74), Izzy Planck (74), Kennadi Jackson (76).
