But the Scotland international has already confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Atletico were keen to sign the experienced left-back last summer, but a transfer didn’t materialise.
The Spanish outfit have since revived their interest and could initiate a move to sign the Liverpool ace on a free transfer.
Diego Simeone’s side currently sit fourth in La Liga, with 10 points ahead of Real Betis in fifth.
Atletico sealed a place in the Champions League semi-final after a 3-2 aggregate win against Barcelona in the previous round.
Tottenham Hotspur also have their sights on Robertson.
They tried to sign the 32-year-old in the winter transfer window but he decided against the move at that point.
Tottenham are reportedly in advanced talks over a deal for Robertson this summer.
But a move could be in jeopardy, as Spurs are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.
