Nottingham Forest and Fiorentina played out a goalless draw at the City Ground as pre-season preparations continued for both sides.Â
In a game of very few chances and plenty of substitutions, Fiorentina had the better openings in both halves.Â
Domilson Dodo and Moise Kean combined to have the best chances of the first half towards the end of the 45. Dodo slipped in the striker to go one on one with Matz Sels, but the Forest keeper stood strong. The Brazilian then clipped the rebound over the bar.Â
Callum Hudson-Odoi had the hosts' only true chance before the break, but saw his effort saved by David de Gea, who was solid on his return to England.Â
Taiwo Awoniyi had his side's best chance in the second half but dithered too long on the ball allowing Fiorentina defenders to close him down.Â
Riccardo Braschi could have won it late on for the Serie A side but his header from Amir Richardson's cross was again stopped by Sels, who deservedly kept a clean sheet.Â
Next up for Forest is the visit of Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah, while La Viola go to Old Trafford for a de Gea reunion with his former side, Manchester United.Â
