Russell Wilson's Change in Appearance Through 13+ Years Catches Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
As Russell Wilson prepares for his 14th year in the NFL, he continues to draw plenty of interest around the league.
While many await to see how he'll perform in his first year with the New York Giants, however, he recently made headlines for a rather different reason.
On Instagram, the NFL posted 11 photos of his preseason headshots through the years, starting from his first year in the league with the Seattle Seahawks, his stints with the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers up to his latest one with the Giants.
Wilson, who was taken 75th overall by the Seahawks in the 2012 NFL Draft, played 10 seasons in Seattle (2012-2021), two in Denver (2022-2023) and one in Pittsburgh (2024) before signing with the Giants for the 2025 season.
Throughout his NFL career, the one-time Super Bowl champion sported various hairstyles, mostly highlighting his curly hair — from short and tight curls to medium-length curls. There were also some instances when he rocked a mohawk and a clean buzz cut.
Fans React to Russell Wilson's Physical Appearance
Sure enough, the NFL's post drew several reactions from fans and followers. Aside from comments about Wilson's hair, many took notice about how he matured through the years.
Others couldn't help but point out how he looked serious in other photos and was all smiles in others, particularly in his latest snap with New York.
"That man aged me 10 years being on the Broncos 2 Seasons," a commenter noticed. Another one said, "Steelers Russ doesn’t even look like him."
One fan said, "They grow up so fast!" However, another poster chimed in, saying, "Russell has not aged."
"His smile is back!" a poster added.
"His hairline look different in every picture but congrats.." a social media user shared. A follower remarked, "Rookie Russ is David Goggins with hair."
"Mohawk Russ had the best ball skills," an eighth fan noted.
Wilson's 2025 Outlook Amid Incredible NFL Career
Wilson is already a Super Bowl champion, having won the title in the 2013 season. With 10 Pro Bowl selections, an All Pro honor and a number of other accolades, the 36-year-old certainly has nothing left to prove in his career.
After a tumultuous past few seasons with the Broncos and Steelers, though, it's not a surprise that he's still motivated as ever to achieve something with the Giants.
When he joined the Giants this past offseason, Wilson expressed his belief that the team is capable of winning it all, further highlighting where his mind is at this point in his career.
"The opportunity here is so great," Wilson said of joining the New York franchise, per CBS Sports. "I don't mind the lights. I don't mind that part of it. I think the other part of it for me, most importantly of it all that, is I've been here before. When you walk into a stadium, and my locker is the same locker I had when I won the Super Bowl. So, for me, when I see that, when I walk into the stadium I'm like, I've been here before. Not just been here but, like, we did this before.
"So, I fundamentally believe it's possible again in terms of being successful again and being at the highest level. I think we got the right guys. … There's a lot of good pieces to it. And it's a show."
