Micah Parsons' brother takes shot at Jerry Jones
“Checkmate”: Micah Parsons’ Brother Sends Clear Message to Jerry Jones After Trade Request originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons has been the team's defensive anchor since his rookie season in 2021. Just last season, he became the sixth player ever to exceed 50 sacks in his first four seasons in the NFL.
This offseason, Parsons made it clear he is seeking to renegotiate his contract, but there wasn't "much movement." He's currently set to enter the fifth and final year of his rookie contract.
On Friday, Parsons announced that he is requesting a trade from the Cowboys after failing to reach a new contract agreement. He clarified he had full intentions of staying with the organization, but due to the circumstances, he no longer wants to be there.
Following the news, his brother, Terrence Parsons Jr., sent a message to team owner Jerry Jones regarding the situation.
Parsons Jr. unleashed a series of messages directed at Jones, the organization and his brother on social media.
"Micah playing the game I love it," he wrote.
"Checkmate moves on you Jerry," he followed.
Let’s be logical for a second…. Jerry not trading Micah no time soon that’s just me knowing the Cowboys Micah entirely to valuable," he concluded.
Checkmate moves on you Jerry 🤷🏾♂️

This offseason, Jones inaccurately publicly scrutinized Parsons for missing six games last season, yet he only missed four. Parsons has only missed five total games in his first four seasons. Jones also stated that the 'Pay Micah!' chants that fans conducted when he spoke at training camp weren't very loud, downplaying the message.
Since the announcement, it's believed that the organization will reportedly not honor Parsons' trade request. That means this situation could continue to be a distraction during the preseason and beyond.
