Dez Bryant didn't take too kindly to Jerry Jones mentioning him by name in the midst of the team's ongoing contract standoff with Micah Parsons.
Apparently the reason the 82-year-old oil maverick doesn't want to deal with Parsons' agent is because of his experience with the former Cowboys receiver, and when word got back to the three-time Pro Bowler it wasn't pretty.
Speaking to the media at Dallas' training camp over the weekend, Jones recalled trying to get a deal done with Dez back in 2015 when he was being represented by JAY-Z's Roc Nation — and dealing with the hip-hop mogul seemed to turn him sour on having agents involved in the negotiation process at all.
"Because when we have a problem with the player, the agent is nowhere to be found," Jones told The Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Saturday. "JAY-Z said that Dez would make all meetings. JAY-Z and I negotiated the contract, spent hours."
"He said, 'Anybody in my organization is on time.' He said, 'My office used to be on the street corner, and I've always been early. So, they will be on time,'" Jerry added. "And what did I say? I said, 'I'm going to call you [when I have a problem].' He quit taking my call."
That's when Dez got involved on social media with a message for his former boss.
"JERRY JONES I DONT THINK ITS SMART TO MENTION MY NAME I KEPT QUIET ABOUT A LOT OF UNFAIR S—T.. ON SOME G S—T…" Bryant warned. "WE CAN HAVE STORY TIME IF THATS WHAT WE ARE DOING."
"Yall don't understand the amount of s—t I let slide.." he added. "do not mention my name about s—t. The love hate relationship is real!"

Bryant inked a five-year, $70 million deal with the Cowboys at the time. After which he never recorded another 1,000-yard season again — with 2014's 1,320-yard, 16-touchdown campaign remaining the most productive of his career.
Dez injured his Achilles in 2018 causing him to miss the entirety of the next two seasons before a brief six-game stint with the Baltimore Ravens.
Although he has still yet to officially retire, Bryant hasn't played a game of football in more than five years and is eligible to be a part of next summer's 2026 Hall of Fame class.
