Cam Ward was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans. After the Titans struggled to a league-worst 3-14 record last season, they believe they've found their next franchise quarterback.

Ward, 23, spent one season at the University of Miami after spending two seasons at Washington State University. He had a phenomenal junior season at Miami, finishing fourth in Heisman Trophy voting. Ward threw for an impressive 4,319 yards (second in the nation), while throwing 39 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.

As Ward makes his way through his first NFL training camp, in preparation for his highly anticipated rookie season, his work ethic has caught the attention of the Titans coaching staff.

Reportedly, some members of the coaching staff have had to kick Ward out of the Titans training facility, forcefully sending him home for the night. It has also been reported that Ward is showing up to hold daily film sessions as early as 5 a.m. EDT.

While speaking to reporters this week, Ward explained where his incredible work ethic comes from.

“I grew up watching my Dad wake up at 4:30 doin a job he didn't like, so if I can’t wake up early and do what I need to do for a job that I do like, I shouldn’t be playing Football, and that goes for everyone in the locker room,” Ward said.

Ward appears to be drawing from his childhood experiences and upbringing by his dad as motivation for his incredible work ethic. In what has been considered a "down year" for the QB position in the NFL draft, Ward still stood out as the consensus No. 1 pick.

Ward will lead a Titans offense that features wide receivers, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, and Van Jefferson as well as running backs, Tony Pollard an Tyjae Spears. Last year's Titans offense ranked No. 26 in passing yards (3,317) as well as total yards (5,172).

Ward is looking to change that, hopefully improving the Titans offense and overall record through his unparalleled work ethic. He ended his strong comments by saying that good things come as a direct product from those who put in the effort.

"I think good things only come from those who work," Ward said.
