Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Haason Reddick loves the intensity of his daily training camp battles against right tackle Luke Goedeke. On Friday, while speaking to the media, Reddick called the experience central to his development and readiness for the NFL season.

Reddick described these matchups as embodying the old saying, "iron sharpens iron," highlighting how the competition drives improvement.

"Man, Luke is a tremendous talent," Reddick said. "We are going out there and battling every day. Iron sharpens iron and it sounds cliché. I know everybody uses that a lot but we are really out here battling. I love going up against him. He has really strong hands.

"I mean, if he gets his hands on you, it will be really hard to get them off you and I love to see that. For me, it is actually putting me against somebody that I have to work against, which is going to make me better."

Reddick, acquired by the Buccaneers in March, has accumulated 59 career sacks over 124 games with four teams. He posted four straight seasons with double-digit sacks from 2020–2023, including 16 sacks in 2022 with Philadelphia.

Reddick also ranks second in the league since 2020 with 15 forced fumbles and leads in strip sacks.

But last season was a challenging one for Reddick. He had a prolonged contract holdout with the New York Jets that lasted until October. After finally reporting to the team, his on-field production was limited. Over 10 games, Reddick recorded just one sack, one forced fumble and 14 tackles, including two for loss.

Now, he is seeking a fresh start under Todd Bowles.
