Shedeur Sanders has found himself in the middle of an intense quarterback battle as the Cleveland Browns choose among him, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett to be the Week 1 starter.

On Wednesday, the Browns held their seventh day of training camp. As the Sept. 7 season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals approaches, the coaching staff is facing a big decision that will be based on these practice performances.

Sanders has impressed so far, and during a rep Wednesday, he delivered an impressive pass to wide receiver Kisean Johnson while rolling out to the right, placing the ball just over the defender's shoulder.

Fans Took Notice of Sanders' Playmaking Ability

The throw immediately garnered attention on social media, with many praising Sanders for keeping the play alive and delivering a tough throw.

"Shedeur is a lot better athlete than people give him credit for he likely won't take a run to the house but he can extend the play," said one comment.

"That's what he was excellent in at CU...." said another.

"Everything about this kid makes me excited for the future. 5th round pick so pressure off from a top 10 pick Work ethic is unreal, first in and last away it seems. Committed to making himself in the roster and a shout to be QB1," a third added.

A fourth stated, "Who out there COOKING LIKE THAT."

"enough is enough we know qb1," a fifth continued.

"That’s what he do!" said another.

Sanders Receives Reps Against First-Team Defense

After practice concluded, ESPN Cleveland posted a graphic of how each quarterback performed, with Sanders completing 6 of 10 passes, Gabriel connecting 6 of 11 attempts (one touchdown) and Flacco with 3 of 7 passes completed. Pickett had zero because he's dealing with a hamstring injury.

Of course, the stats do provide an interesting look into how each quarterback is performing, but the most eye-popping part about the post is that it states Sanders "took snaps against the 1st team defense for the first time in camp."

That is certainly not a bad sign for the rookie fifth-round selection as he looks to continue making his mark for the Browns.
