Lions, Vikings both given trade cases for Micah Parsons after Cowboys' star requests deal

The NFC North could get involved.

Micah Parsons wants out of Dallas, and this situation has the potential to get ugly.

The superstar pass rusher requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, and if he really is going to be on the move, teams all over the NFL will inquire.

Parsons is in line for a record-setting contract that will be for the most money ever given to a non-quarterback. And if Jerry Jones won't give it to him, someone else will.

The young star Parsons shared his thoughts on social media on Friday. He wrote, in part:

"Yes I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet. I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this America's Team once again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, Pa. Unfortunately, I no longer want to be here. I no longer want to be held to closed door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me."

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio broke down Parsons' options soon after the request.

While acknowledging that the Cowboys wouldn't love trading Parsons in the NFC, Florio sees two fits, NFC North rivals Detroit and Minnesota.

The Lions' situation is a bit give and take.

"He’d be a major factor for the Lions, but they still have to pay Aidan Hutchinson," Florio writes.

As for the Vikings?

"Parsons would be a fascinating chess piece in the Brian Flores defense in Minnesota," Florio adds.

With at least a dozen sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons, Parsons is a superstar.

Every team in the league must be at least having conversations about the concept of going to get him and make a deal happen.

It might still be a while, but this situation is coming toward some kind of dramatic conclusion. So teams all across the NFL are staying tuned in.
