According to a recent report from MARCA, Real Madrid are facing a unique challenge this summer as no player wants to leave.

Since the Club World Cup ended, not a single player, nor their agents, have shown any interest in departing or even entertaining offers. While this level of squad commitment is admirable, it poses a significant problem for the club.

As such, with the squad already at full capacity, Real Madrid cannot make any new signings unless players leave.

As August begins and pre-season preparations are set to resume under Xabi Alonso, it is time for tough decisions. Roles must be clarified, and plans discussed during the World Cup will need to be finalised.

Pending cases at Real Madrid

The club is juggling several situations. One is the future of Gonzalo Garcia and Endrick. With Kylian Mbappe a guaranteed starter, there is room for just one more forward.

Real Madrid are keen not to hinder the development of either young talent and must now decide who stays and who goes out on loan.

David Alaba is another issue. The Austrian defender, now 33, remains one of the highest earners at the club.

Given his injury history and Real Madrid’s strong depth at centre-back, the club are open to terminating his contract. However, Alaba is reportedly unwilling to consider a departure.

Meanwhile, Ferland Mendy’s future is also under scrutiny. Although not officially listed for sale, the left-back’s status has weakened.

The arrival of Alvaro Carreras, Fran Garcia’s strong displays at the Club World Cup, and Alonso’s tactical adjustments have pushed Mendy down the pecking order.

With no players willing to leave, Real Madrid risk heading into the season without room for any new signings, which is why a clear-out seems essential if the club hopes to strengthen further this summer.
