Wilson wasn't happy, either.
The best high school runner on the planet suffered a shocking setback on Friday night.
Quincy Wilson, the 17-year old phenom, was running at the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday night.
He took the track for his 400-meter semifinal, looking to make the final and then hoping to advance to the World Championships.
Instead, Wilson didn't even make it out of the semis.
Wilson ran just a 45.39 seconds, fourth in his heat and not good enough to advance.
It's a tough beat for Wilson, who has run as fast as 44.10 this season. He just didn't quite have it on Friday night.
His 44.10-second time made him the third-fastest man in the U.S. this year.
"He was NOT HAPPY," The Athletic's Marcus Thompson wrote on X. "It's probably my favorite part about him. He can't stand losing and he doesn't hide it."
Wilson is the fastest-ever American high schooler in both the indoor and outdoor 400.
He qualified for the men's 4x400-meter relay pool for the 2024 Summer Olympics, making him the youngest American track and field male athlete in Olympic history.
Wilson just ran in the heats at the Olympics, and that team went on to win gold. That meant Wilson was the youngest track and field Olympic gold medalist ever.
But a year later, he won't be in the World Championships.
Wilson's future is immensely bright, and now he's added in this special motivation. He won't want to feel this again.
