New 2025 MIAA football divisions affects five MetroWest schools. See who landed where

See which division every MetroWest and greater Milford high school football team will play in during the 2025 season. Five have moved up or down.

Get the lay of the land.

The 2025 fall football season is the first in the latest MIAA tournament alignment cycle, meaning some teams changed divisions. That impacts nearly every aspect of scheduling and postseason qualification, as a school's division impacts both power ratings for their own and opponent schedules and determines which postseason tournament they will compete in.

Five teams changed divisions this cycle:

Hopkinton

The Hillers, with an enrollment of 1,220, are moving up to Division 2 after competing in Division 3 last season. That's middle of the pack in terms of the size of the schools it will measure up against.

Lincoln-Sudbury

The Warriors will move down to Division 2. With an enrollment of 1,439, L-S is the largest school in the division but would have been one of the smallest in Division 1 that didn't appeal up to be there.

Marlborough

The Panthers are heading to Division 5 down from Division 4. They'll be one of the 15 largest schools in Division 5, which has 37 participants.

Medway High School junior Logan Keaney gains yards against Westwood, Oct. 4, 2024.

Medway

The Mustangs re playing in Division 6. With an enrollment of 600, Medway will be one of the five biggest schools in the division.

Westborough

After playing in Division 3 last season, the Rangers are heading to Division 2. They'll be among the smaller schools with an enrollment of 1,150 but one of just 22 teams in the division.
