Detroit Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa pulled an all-time move by wearing a custom Lions jersey with his name on it to a pre-draft meeting with the team.
It was a dream come true for wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa to get drafted by the Detroit Lions, as the Arkansas product grew up as a fan of the team.
The Lions took the Michigan native in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft, which was a surprise considering he wasn't on anyone's radar at that spot in the draft.
But he was obviously on the Lions' radar after making a good impression on the team in the pre-draft process.
He also had a memorable moment in a pre-draft meeting with Detroit, when TeSlaa wore a custom Lions jersey with his name on the back of it. General manager Brad Holmes called the move "cheesy," but respected him for it.
"I thought he just did a cheesy move, just some fanboy stuff, and I was like, 'Come on, he didn't put a Lions jersey on.' But no, he said, 'No, I've had this since the eighth grade. What better time to wear it than now?'" Holmes said. "And so, I really respected that. But he truly grew up as a Lions fan through and through. But obviously that is not why we were excited to go up there and pick him."
TeSlaa finished his final collegiate season at Arkansas with 28 receptions for 545 yards and three touchdowns.
Looking ahead to his first season in the NFL, TeSlaa is battling for a reserve role in a crowded Lions wide receivers room that will feature Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Tim Patrick as the top-three receivers.
TeSlaa's top competition for those snaps comes from veteran Kalif Raymond and rookie Dominic Lovett.
