Ravens' Roger Rosengarten kept QB Lamar Jackson upright in 2024

Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten played welll in his rookie season, especially in pass protection for quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten was essential to the team's success in 2024. While ESPN doesn’t have a reference to Rosengarten’s individual impact, team statistics directly hint towards his rookie year contributions.

In 2023, the Ravens allowed a whopping 57 sacks to opponents, prompting general manager Eric DeCosta to make changes. Last season, the Ravens cut that allowance in half, giving up just 27 sacks through 17 games played.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson yielded a career high 4,172 in passing yards, comfortably shredding defenses from the pocket instead of being under constant pressure like in the season prior.

Rosengarten received accolades from Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett in Week 18. Even Garrett could acknowledge the humility and dedication Rosengarten modeled on the field. Under the admonition of teammate offensive tackle  Ronnie Stanley and center Tyler Linderbaum, DeCosta can expect Rosengarten to improve in his sophomore season. Another year of NFL training camp should yield an increase in muscle mass and improve hand-eye coordination in Rosengarten's repertoire.
