Tracy McGrady played 16 seasons in the NBA, carving out an unforgettable career as a two-time scoring champion and seven-time All-Star. Known for his athleticism and highlight-reel plays, McGrady was one of the most electrifying players of his era.
He entered the league as the ninth overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft after starring at Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, North Carolina. Following a stellar high school season where he earned Mr. Basketball honors, McGrady quickly became one of the top prospects heading into the draft.

What Teams did Tracy McGrady Play For?
McGrady played for seven NBA teams and also had a stint in China with the Qingdao Eagles. His NBA journey began with the Toronto Raptors (1997–2000), followed by a move to the Orlando Magic, where he played from 2000 to 2004.
He spent the longest stretch of his career with the Houston Rockets, playing 5.5 seasons from 2004 to midway through the 2009–10 season. McGrady finished that season with the New York Knicks before moving to the Detroit Pistons for the 2010–11 campaign, appearing in 72 games. His final NBA season came with the Atlanta Hawks in 2011–12, where he played in 52 games.
