Tyler Marsh reflected on Chicago's need to get more out of Cardoso in their loss to the Washington Mystics.

Chicago Sky head coach Tyler Marsh admitted after his team's fifth straight loss on Sunday that "those days are gone" of simply throwing the ball into 6-foot-7 center Kamilla Cardoso to get an easy bucket.
He highlighted the need to get her more creative looks, and the result was anything but a win on Tuesday.
Reese and Cardoso Make History in Another Sky Loss
Cardoso had 21 points on 8-for-16 from the field and secured 10 rebounds, but the Sky extended their losing streak to six games with a 103-87 defeat at the hands of the Washington Mystics.
Angel Reese marked her return from two games out with a back injury by putting up 22 points and 13 rebounds. The "Skyscrapers" of Reese and Cardoso became the first teammates in franchise history to both record at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in the same game.

They were, however, outdone by Washington's electric inside-out rookie duo of Kiki Iriafen (22 points) and Sonia Citron (28 points).
Marsh Says Cardoso Change Was Not the Issue
After the game, Marsh was asked to reflect specifically on the changes he made for Cardoso. Here are a few of his thoughts from the postgame press conference:
- Marsh said his game plan for Cardoso was "executed pretty well offensively"
- He was proud that they "were able to get (Cardoso) some good looks"
- The return of Reese helped the flow of the offense, including big-to-big passing
- Moving forward, his goal is "to continue getting (Cardoso) touches."
However, the most damning evaluation Marsh made had nothing to do with his offensive sets.
Inconsistency Strikes as Chicago's Defense Falls Short
The successful shift to prioritize the Brazilian on offense did not result in a win because there were issues at the other end of the floor — Cardoso included.
"(Washington) is a team that thrives on the paint and we didn't do a good job protecting the paint today," the first-year coach said. "That was the difference in the game."
Despite Reese and Cardoso's dominant numbers, the Mystics outscored the Sky 52-40 in the paint as a team.
By taking one step forward on offense and two steps back on defense, Chicago's sixth consecutive loss displayed the inconsistencies that have caused their young, injury-ridden team to fall to 7-19 on the season, the second-worst record in the WNBA.
