Thursday's Hall of Fame Game will feature special guest in NBC booth

You'll never guess.

When the NFL preseason action kicks off on Thursday, NBC will feature the game. The 2025 Hall of Fame game will feature the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Chargers. As NBC tells the story of the game, there will be a special guest in the booth.

Musberger is now 86 years old.  The 2025 recipient of the Pete Rozell Radio-Television award will be honored in a pregame interview with Maria Taylor, before he joins the broadcast crew of Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth in the second half of the game.

The veteran has done almost everything in his career. The original host of the NFL Today on CBS was the voice of many Super Bowls and the play-by-play announcer for the Las Vegas Raiders from 2018-22.

Many still know Musberger for his work with college football. He's also reportedly the man who coined the term "March Madness."

This game between the Chargers and Lions will kick off the 2025 preseason in the National Football League. Following this game, teams will then open up with preseason action next Thursday, August 7.

The first regular season game in the NFL is slated for September 4 in Philadelphia.
