The Las Vegas Raiders lost both starting linebackers in free agency this offseason. To replace Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo, Pete Carroll and John Spytek brought in a duo of Elandon Roberts and Devin White.

White is coming off a down year with the Houston Texans, but Carroll provided an update on how the former All-Pro linebacker is faring at Raiders training camp thus far.

"(White) had, probably, two or three of the best plays on practice yesterday, as well. He's back," Carroll said. "He was on top of the world a few years ago, and then things kinda just didn't work out for one reason or another, and he's back in action now."

Once an All-Pro and Pro Bowl-level player during his career, White was a pivotal part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Super Bowl-winning team, of which Spytek was also a key front office member.

Las Vegas added several experienced linebackers this offseason, like Roberts, Germaine Pratt, Jaylon Smith and recently, Jamal Adams. However, it seems like Carroll has been impressed with the six-year veteran through the first two days of padded practice.

All told, White has 585 career tackles in addition to 23.0 sacks, three interceptions, 21 passes defended, six forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns in his NFL career.

White will be competing for playing time in the Raiders' linebacker room this season, as defensive coordinator Patrick Graham suddenly has an abundance of choices. If White can return to the level he played at early in his career, starting him could be a no-brainer.
