The Los Angeles Rams had their first padded practice of training camp on Monday, and there was a defensive player who stood out the most.

According to Rams staff writer Stu Jackson, defensive tackle Poona Ford looked "as advertised" during running plays. The offense was running the ball often, and Ford was standing out.

Ford is entering his eighth NFL season and his first with the Rams after signing a three-year deal that's worth nearly $30 million during free agency. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before moving on to the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers over the last two seasons.

Ford was compared to former Rams pass rusher Aaron Donald by D'Marco Farr at the end of March when he was describing parts of his game. That's a big deal since Donald helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI and is one of the best defensive players in NFL history.

Ford will try to help the Rams be stingy against the run this year after finishing last season with 39 total tackles, three sacks, and five passes defended. He also played in all 17 games for the Chargers during the previous season.

The Rams will open their 2025 campaign against the Houston Texans on September 7. Kickoff will be at 4:25 p.m. ET.
