Before the New York Yankees’ home game on Monday, two of the biggest names in professional sports met up in the Bronx. Aaron Judge and Luka Doncic, both global stars in their respective sports, linked up at Yankee Stadium for a memorable exchange.

Although Judge didn’t play due to injury, he greeted the Los Angeles Lakers star during batting practice and gifted him a pair of his personal edition “Double Gum” cleats along with a game-used bat.

MLB shared a photo of Doncic soaking in the moment at the iconic stadium. The Lakers guard has drawn attention recently for his impressive offseason transformation and improved conditioning.

Later during the game, the Yankees’ social media posted a photo of the two stars together. Doncic held up a Yankees jersey with his trademark No. 77 and his name on the back, while Judge posed with a pair of Luka’s basketball shoes.

Two of the Best in their Game

Judge, a seven-time All-Star, has represented the Yankees in every All-Star game since 2021. He’s a two-time American League MVP and was named AL Rookie of the Year in 2017. Heading into his current injury, he had been hitting .342 with 37 home runs and 85 RBIs. All three stats ranked in the top three across MLB. He remains sidelined with an elbow injury but is expected to return as the team’s designated hitter.

Doncic, in his second season with the Lakers following a midseason trade from Dallas, played 28 games with LA before the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Minnesota. He’s a five-time NBA All-Star, was the league’s scoring champion in 2024, and won NBA Rookie of the Year in 2019. Before his NBA career, Doncic was an EuroLeague MVP and led his team to a championship overseas.

His trip to New York wasn’t just about baseball. Doncic also met up with fellow Jordan Brand athlete Jazz Chisholm. He’s set to travel with the brand to promote “The One,” a global 1-on-1 tournament aimed at crowning the best solo player in the world. The first stop is on Tuesday in New York, with events also scheduled in Chicago and Los Angeles.
