La Liga outfit Valencia have this week been dealt something of a blow on the transfer front.
This comes amid confirmation that Los Che’s long-term efforts to land Nicolás Fonseca from Mexican outfit Club León have fallen through.
Amid ongoing efforts to add to the club’s options in the middle of the park, the Valencia brass had long earmarked Uruguayan international Fonseca as the ideal target.
Talks, in turn, had been ongoing between the parties for some time now.
As alluded to above, however, this week, those in the boardroom at Mestalla have seen their pursuit come up short.
As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto on Wednesday:
‘The negotiation between Valencia and Club León FC for Nicolás Fonseca has fallen through: the Mexican club has informed Valencia that it will definitively withdraw from the talks in the coming hours.’
Valencia have already begun scouring the market for alternative options, with Atlético Mineiro’s Alan Franco one such profile being considered.
