The Philadelphia Phillies could use an outfielder, and they may have the opportunity to add an All-Star with multiple years of club control. However, it would not be cheap.
Nick Castellanos is the only Phillies outfielder with an OPS+ above 100, and even he is at just 101. The team needs more offensive production from their outfielders, and the Cleveland Guardians are "trying to move" Steven Kwan, according to MLB insider Mark Feinsand.
Kwan is under club control through 2027, is a two-time All-Star and has won three Gold Glove Awards. He is going to demand a haul of multiple great prospects for the Guardians to move him. Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller proposed this trade that would land him in Philadelphia:
- Phillies receive: Steven Kwan
- Guardians receive: Aidan Miller, Moisés Chace and Keaton Anthony
Three of the Phillies' top 20 prospects in exchange for Kwan is what the deal is. Miller is a Top 100 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and would headline the package going back to Cleveland. Chace is the Phillies' No. 8 prospect and Anthony is their No. 17 prospect.

"The only real question is whether they'll prioritize Kwan over, say, upgrading the entire bullpen," wrote Miller. "But they could do both. They have the prospects to make it happen, and they could add relievers from elsewhere while selling Cleveland on the dream of an Aidan Miller and Travis Bazzana middle infield over the latter half of this decade."
