Jokic was caught looking absolutely exhilarated when his horse won the race it was involved in. People were quick to joke about the fact that this looked like more emotion than when the Denver Nuggets secured the 2023 NBA championship.

The imagery is very selective in the two pictures above. However, it is tough not to have a good chuckle at the calm and composed nature of Jokic in 2023 by comparison to the raw emotion on display at the horse racing event.
Nuggets' 2025-26 championship push could give Jokic opportunity to rewrite narrative
If people thought that Jokic was a little too reserved in celebration of his first NBA championship, perhaps the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season can work to change that belief. Denver is poised to be right in the mix for a title in the upcoming campaign.
Thinking that Jokic does not have love for basketball is a bit silly in the first place. There are plenty of moments to be found from the 2025 NBA Playoffs alone that featured the Nuggets superstar heavily involved and invested in the game's action.
For the non-believers though, a second championship and celebration should work towards silencing the comedic narratives about how the NBA is just a day job for Jokic. The Nuggets front office have offered that opportunity.
Bringing in Cam Johnson, Jonas Valanciunas, Bruce Brown, and Tim Hardaway Jr. will significantly bolster the supporting cast around Jokic. The Nuggets should be the main competition for the Oklahoma City Thunder to take home another Larry O'Brien in 2025-26.
