This Denver Nuggets champion is close to going overseas.
Nuggets Champion Preparing to Leave NBA After 8 Seasons originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
When the Denver Nuggets won the NBA title in 2023, they lost a few important players the following offseason. Most notably, they lost Bruce Brown (who they have since brought back) and Jeff Green, who has since played for the Houston Rockets. Another player they lost was Thomas Bryant.
Denver acquired Bryant mid-season from the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2022-23 season. In 18 regular season games, he averaged 4.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks while shooting 48.5% from the field for the Nuggets. Bryant didn't appear in one single playoff game during their title run.
Since leaving the Nuggets, Bryant has spent the last two seasons with the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. As their backup center, Bryant helped the Pacers make their first NBA Finals since 2000.
While it appears Bryant's NBA career is over for now, he is in talks to find his next professional basketball gig overseas. Romanian outlet TeleSport reported that Bryant is in talks to join the Greek basketball team Panathinakos.
"According to our exclusive sources, Thomas Bryant is the top candidate to strengthen Panathinaikos at the center position," Telesport reported. "The two sides are in advanced negotiations, and if everything goes according to plan, the big man would sign a contract worth $3,000,000 per year!"

Panathinakos had tried to sign Jonas Valanciunas not too long after the Nuggets acquired him from the Sacramento Kings, but that fell through. They currently employ multiple former NBA players, including Kendrick Nunn, Cedi Osman, Jerian Grant, Juancho Hernangomez, and Omer Yurtseven.
