Coach White liked what she saw.

The Indiana Fever announced on Thursday that while no additional damage was discovered from further tests on Caitlin Clark’s re-aggravated right groin injury, the 23-year-old will remain out for an indefinite period.
Clark’s absence was one of the factors behind the team’s recent decision to bring in some reinforcement during this crucial stretch of the season. This came in the form of 6-foot-2 forward Chloe Bibby, who signed a seven-day contract with the Fever on Friday.
Chloe Bibby Makes Her Fever Debut
The 27-year-old made her Fever debut on Sunday, coming off the bench to log 11 minutes of action against the Chicago Sky. Bibby turned in quality minutes in her limited run, finishing with eight points on 2-of-5 shooting, two rebounds, a block and two triples.
Indiana head coach Stephanie White had some strong words for the team’s newest recruit following their 93-78 win over the Sky. According to White, the one thing that impressed her the most about Bibby is her “ability to stretch the floor.”
"She did a really good job of understanding offense, understanding where she was going to get hers, and then staying shot-ready," White said during her postgame press conference. "I like how she was defensively too, she didn't allow any easy entry passes."
"She just gives us a different look than any of our other post players. Sometimes you'll see us go small with Sophie (Cunningham) and Lexie (Hull) at the four. With Chloe on our roster right now, we don't have to do that. She has really good size, and she has that same ability to stretch the floor."
Bibby Looking to Make Her Mark
The Fever is Bibby’s second team this season. She played five games for the Golden State Valkyries earlier in the campaign before she was waived on June 30. During that stretch, the Australian averaged 6.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 triples.
As White said, Bibby brings a lot to the table for the Fever, but her biggest asset is being a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. She should get a chance to make more noise in Indiana’s next game, which comes on Wednesday against the Phoenix Mercury.
