Career highlights: After catching 142 passes for 1,744 yards and 13 touchdowns in 40 games at Rice, Trammell was an undrafted free agent signed by the Atlanta Falcons in 2021. He was signed by the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 and played 22 games for the Rams in two seasons, mostly on special teams. He caught six passes for 42 yards. Trammell was signed by the Jaguars on June 12, 2024, and was elevated from the practice squad against Philadelphia, catching two passes for 40 yards. Trammell played for Jaguars coach Liam Coen when he was the offensive coordinator for the Rams in 2022.

Camp scenario: Trammell is trying to make a team that returns Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington and Joshua Cephus, drafted Travis Hunter and signed free agent Dyami Brown. Being a return specialist and having player under Coen for one season are points in his favor.

Austin Trammell on his NFL struggles

"Adversity is the only way to get better. So it's been five years in adversity and right now I'm the best football player I've ever been. It's trying to get better every day, trying to do the little things, be consistent. But you always got a chip on your shoulder to prove something. It's just about how you handle adversity. It's the mental toughness."

Austin Trammell on Liam Coen's offense

"It has answers for everything. You're never unprepared for a game, but it's going to take a lot of communication, a lot of detail, a lot of discipline, which we have and which we're working on every day. You go into a game and you feel good about the game plan because you know you have a fix to every look. You have answers to make it right.

Austin Trammell on how the system is taking hold

"We put in a lot of work during the offseason, during OTAs, put a lot of install in. We worked really hard during extra walk-throughs, extra film study, extra script readings, just going over it with the guys. We put in a lot of work this off-season to get to a point now where we're not thinking as much as we're going out there and playing."
