NFL insider refutes Schefter's report on incident with Christian Wilkins, Raiders teammate

An NFL insider has refuted ESPN's Adam Schefter's reporting on former Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins' incident with a teammate.

An NFL insider has refuted ESPN's Adam Schefter's report on an incident involving former Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins and a teammate.

When Wilkins was released on July 24, NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that an incident involving a teammate also contributed to the Raiders' decision to release the veteran defender. Initially, the team's primary reason for releasing Wilkins was a disagreement on how to handle his lingering foot injury.

On Monday, Schefter revealed that Wilkins kissed a teammate on the head, and the anonymous teammate didn't appreciate that.

"When you speak to people there inside the locker room, they say that Christian playfully went to kiss a teammate on top of his head," Schefter said on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday.

"And those same people said that player took offense to it," Schefter added.

Shortly after Schefter's report, NBC Sports' Mike Florio stated that Schefter's story is incorrect.

"That is definitely NOT the story that has been making the rounds," Florio wrote on X via the Pro Football Talk account.

Florio refuted Schefter's reporting, but didn't add a story of his own. We'll see if this situation reaches a resolution.
