The Detroit Lions' preseason training camp continued in Allen Park Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. practice appropriately dubbed 'Back Together Weekend' as Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone returned to practice.

Anzalone made headlines this week with comments on new contract talks, calling them "weird" and describing his attitude toward them as "disappointed."

Anzalone returned to practice without a new deal on Saturday, sending a message to Lions fans on his Instagram page as he attempted to clear the air about attitude questions prior to his return.

"Nothing will ever steal this joy," Anzalone wrote, captioning a photo as he walked into Detroit's indoor practice facility.

Anzalone also reposted a message from former Notre Dame linebacker and Heisman Trophy candidate Manti Te'o off of the NFL Network's Good Morning Football TV show.

T'eo selected Anzalone as the sixth best linebacker in the National Football League on his top ten list with Bobby Wagner of the Washington Commanders in the top spot.

Anzalone broke his left forearm in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season but was later able to play through the injury, earning him the respect of Lions fans and coaches for his valiant effort.

The former Florida Gators college star was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of 2017's NFL draft and played four years with the team before signing with head coach Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions.
