Texas Longhorns set for massive win total in 2025, betting insider says

The Texas Longhorns are expected to be really good this year, so sportsbooks have set their over/under line pretty high at 9.5. Despite that, one betting insider has no trepidation about taking the over and expecting a really dominant year for the Longhorns.

Arch Manning

The sky is the limit for the Texas Longhorns, which is why the over/under line on their win total is fairly high at 9.5. Winning 10 games generally indicates that a team had a good, successful regular season. For the Longhorns, that might be a bit of a disappointment.

They're loaded with talent, especially at quarterback with Arch Manning finally getting the reins. It could all lead to one of the best years for the program in a long time, which is why CBS Sports' Jimmie Kaylor is taking the over despite how high it is.

"Texas is set to enter the 2025 college football season with a national-championship-or-bust mentality. They are among the top teams in every preseason poll released thus far, and will have one of the most hyped quarterbacks in college football history under center in redshirt sophomore Arch Manning," Kaylor said.

The young QB will be taking over for one of the most prolific quarterbacks in program history in Quinn Ewers, but the talent is undeniable and is something Ewers didn't really have on the same level. Plus, Kaylor believes Manning's mobility adds a new wrinkle to the Texas offense that was missing.

"When I broke down Texas' 2025 schedule, I conservatively came up with 10 wins. If the Horns stay healthy, however, this could easily be an 11 or 12 win regular season team," he said, firmly blowing past that 9.5 win line that sportsbooks have set. This could be one of the easiest bets to make in Kaylor's eyes.
