Miami Dolphins Fins Up/Fins Down: Quarterbacks excel on Day 5 training camp

Tua Tagovailoa and Quinn Ewers had good days at Miami Dolphins training camp Day 5 on Monday.

MIAMI GARDENS – The Miami Dolphins had their fifth training camp practice of the 2025 season on Monday, July 28 at Baptist Health Training Complex.

The Dolphins worked heavily on special teams, run game and red zone.

Chop Robinson and the pass rush had some good moments. But so did Miami’s passing game.

Stock Up

Quarterbacks — It was a good day for Tua Tagovailoa, Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers. All three made eye-opening completions featuring players like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Tua has connected with Hill on some big plays in recent practices, as he’s heated up. Wilson routinely demonstrates arm strength, quick release and unique arm angles. He’s still developing. But physical talents are obvious.

Run game — Hear me out on this. The Dolphins have spent a whole lot of time working on the run game in the spring and summer. De’Von Achane, Jaylen Wright, Alexander Mattison and Ollie Gordon have gotten carry after carry, particular on inside runs. Mike McDaniel seems firmly committed to improving the physicality and success of Miami’s run game in 2025.

Stock Down

Addison West — Addison had a few less-than-perfect snaps. The Dolphins are trying different folks at center with Aaron Brewer working back from injury. The Dolphins can’t have snapping problems in 2025. This is the time to work through it.
