The Golden State Warriors reportedly shut down the Sacramento Kings' trade offer for one of their young forwards.
Warriors Shut Down Kings' Trade Proposal for Young Forward: Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Golden State Warriors have had an interesting offseason thus far as they have not made any moves outside of the 2025 NBA Draft.
Of course, the Warriors continue to wait on a decision by restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga as he continues to decide on the next chapter of his NBA career.
It is likely that the young forward will look to move on from the Warriors this offseason via a sign-and-trade to a new team after he fell out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season.
One team that has been linked to Kuminga this offseason is the Sacramento Kings and their trade offer for the young forward was revealed on Thursday by ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.
“The Kings have signaled that they are willing to part ways with talents like Devin Carter, Dario Saric, and a protected first-round pick for the Warriors' forward,” Siegel wrote. “This is a proposal that Golden State has not given any thought to and immediately turned down. Malik Monk is another name who has come up in trade talks from Sacramento this offseason, but his contract isn't one that the Dubs have expressed interest in.”

From Siegel’s report, it is clear that the Warriors are not interest in swapping Kuminga for Saric, Carter and a protected first-round pick and Siegel later mentioned that they would instead likely target Keegan Murray or Keon Ellis in a potential deal.
Despite this, Sacramento has shown no interest in moving Murray or Ellis this summer as both players are key pieces to their future and they would also be unwilling to pay a higher price for Kuminga since it is clear that he wants out of Golden State.
While that may be the case, the Warriors’ asking price for their young forward remains high but if they want to end their saga with him this summer, they may have to lower it to get a deal worked out with another franchise.
