This was never in doubt, but great news nevertheless for FC Bayern fans.
Real Madrid might have to wait for a very long time.
Bayern Munich’s footballing sensation Lennart Karl, who has been touted as “Messi 2.0”, “the best thing since sliced bread”, “the heir to Thomas Müller”, etc etc. has been going from strength to strength this season. At just the age of 17, the phenom has made himself a legitimate starting AM option for the world’s best club at the moment, Bayern Munich.
That is no mean feat. Especially given this Bayern side might go on to have the best season in club football history at the current pace. Lennart Karl is very special, and that makes it crucial to secure his long-term future at the club.
In a Sport Bild interview (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl stated that the club had “already signed Lennart Karl to a new long-term contract last summer.” He then added that “we had very good talks with Michael Ballack, and we were convinced he would get his chance with us.” This is encouraging, since former Bayern legend Michael Ballack is Lennart Karl’s agent, and a good relationship with a player’s agent always bodes well for future negotiations.
Finally, he put the cherry on top: “He did very well, so the clauses in his [professional] contract will be activated. Nobody needs to worry about Lennart. He’s secured and we’re very happy that the strategy worked.”
BFW Analysis
The biggest no-brainer ever, and this simply means Karl is here to stay, and there is little doubt he’ll continue to perform at a very high level for Bayern. Heck, at this rate he might even get called up by the German National Team for the 2026 World Cup (it would be very surprising if he didn’t).
This also means that the other European powerhouses (I see you, Real Madrid) will have to wait.
