As we hit the heart of the college basketball season, I’ll be bringing you a moneyline parlay every Saturday for what’s always a stacked slate of NCAA hoops action.
Today, I’m backing undefeated Nebraska, an SMU squad that remains perfect at home, and Arkansas on the road.

College basketball moneyline parlay for January 17
Nebraska vs 
Northwestern
Time: 4:00 p.m. ET
Location: Evanston, IL
TV: Big Ten Network
Pick: Nebraska (-245)
The 17-0 Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of just three unbeaten teams left in college hoops. The Huskers have beaten quality competition, owning five wins over Top-40 KenPom teams — including victories against No. 12 Michigan State and No. 5 Illinois.
They won’t go undefeated forever, but a Northwestern Wildcats team that has lost eight straight games against high-major opponents won't be the one to trip them up.
Virginia vs SMU
Time: 12:00 p.m. ET
Location: Dallas, TX
TV: ESPN2
Pick: SMU (+120)
This sets up as a potential letdown and lookahead spot for the Virginia Cavaliers, who are coming off a big road win at Louisville and have a week off after this game. The Hoos rely heavily on threes which don't drop as easily on the road.
The SMU Mustangs are a perfect 11-0 at home after beating Virginia Tech on a last-second half-court shot Wednesday. SMU boasts elite guard play and held its own on the road at Duke last week despite missing star guard Boopie Miller (20.8 ppg, 7.1 apg).
Back at home with Miller in the lineup, the Mustangs should be in a strong position to get the job done against UVA.
Arkansas vs 
Georgia
Time: 4:00 p.m. ET
Location: Athens, GA
TV: ESPN2
Pick: Arkansas (+105)
The No. 21-ranked Georgia Bulldogs have been an offensive juggernaut, leading the nation at 96.4 points per game. That said, I’m not sold on Georgia’s resume, as the Bulldogs rank 116th in strength of schedule and are 0-2 in Quad 1 games.
Meanwhile, the No. 17 Arkansas Razorbacks have faced the 27th-toughest schedule and are 3-4 in Quad 1 contests. Arkansas also boasts the more talented roster and the coaching edge with John Calipari on the sideline.
That’s enough for me to back the Razorbacks as short road dogs.
