As a Tennessee fan, who are you pulling for in the National Championship?

The National Championship is set, and Tennessee fans have a clear favorite in the matchup.

And just like that, we’ve arrived at the final college football game of the season — the National Championship. How many of you had Indiana taking on Miami in this one? Anyone?

Perhaps the only thing more surprising than Curt Cignetti’s improbable run this season has been Mario Cristobal’s Miami team squeaking into the field and running past Texas A&M, Ohio State and Ole Miss. This coming after taking regular season losses to Louisville and SMU. Now Carson Beck and company have a chance to somehow go out on top.

However, they’ll have to go through the absolute juggernaut that is Indiana. The Hoosiers have blown the doors off of Alabama and Oregon to get here and it’s difficult to see them slowing down in this spot. Indiana has that Cinderella-run feel, yet they’ve left no doubt on their way to the title game. It’s still hard to believe this is only year two for Cignetti.

So who is everyone rooting for on Monday night in Miami? Overwhelmingly, the Hoosiers win our SBNation Reacts poll.

Imagine telling someone you’d be pulling for Indiana in a National Championship game just two years ago — what a story. It’s another example of how NIL and transfer portal have shaped college football, with Cignetti rebuilding the Indiana roster with his previous players from James Madison. He was also able to quietly add future No. 1 overall pick and now Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza out of the portal from Cal.

Miami has blended recruiting with chasing top players out of the portal year after year. The days of Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State simply out-recruiting you at the high school level to win titles are officially done.

The differences in rosters here are striking. Miami has taken the traditional approach, flexing its traditional power muscles on the trail. Indiana? Well, Cignetti has done it quickly through simple culture and scheme. Indiana has had a talent disadvantage on paper in all of these CFP matchups, yet they just keep blowing national powerhouses out.

The oddsmakers at FanDuel have taken notice, placing the Hoosiers as a two-possession favorite over the Hurricanes. Indiana is favored by 8.5 points, and the majority of you are taking the Hoosiers to cover.

Kickoff is set for Monday, January 19th at 7:30 p.m. ET. ESPN will have the call on its family of networks.
