Sweden's Hanna Öberg claimed a second biathlon World Cup sprint season win in a close race in Germany where fast skiing was as important as clean shooting.
Öberg prevailed over 7.5 seconds ahead of French World Cup leader Lou Jeanmonnot in the 7.5-kilometres race. Italy's Lisa Vittozzi was 11.7 seconds back in third.
The top seven hit all 10 targets and only 16.5 seconds separated Öberg and defending World Cup champion Franziska Preuss of Germany in fifth place.
"It was a very fun race. I managed to be a bit more relaxed today," Öberg told German broadcasters ZDF after her 10th career success.
"I tried to be not too tense before the start and not to think too much about the race and focus on the things I do best."
Öberg will be among the top favourites next month at the Winter Olympics in Milan/Cortina d'Ampezzo where she can improve her tally of two gold medals and one silver. She is also a three-time world champion.
A men's sprint is scheduled for Saturday in Ruhpolding.
