FC Bayern just never quits.
After his team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Bayern Munich, FC Köln head coach Lukas Kwasniok came away with nothing but respect for the Bavarians.
“You only have a chance against Bayern if you run more than them, but they’re so hardworking that it’s almost impossible. We did that for large periods in the cup game, and again today in the first half we ran more – that’s the only way because technically they’re just superior. Our problem was that we didn’t make the most of the turnovers. In the end, Bayern decided the game with their individual quality. Not everyone can score a goal like they did to equalize. Harry Kane is an exceptional player, certainly the best all-rounder in Europe at the moment,” Kwasniok said (as captured by FCBayern.com).
Sometimes with a team full of star-level players, intensity and work ethic can dip as the squad can just rely on its natural ability. For Bayern Munich, that mindset just does not exist.
