Today on Pinstripe Alley – 1/15/26

Thursday’s rundown is here.

The offseason spotlight shifted over to Boston yesterday, as the Yankees’ archrivals made a surprising pivot to sign Ranger Suarez to a five-year, $130 million deal. The Sox had cash to burn after Alex Bregman wound up going to the Cubs instead of returning to Fenway, and while they probably still want to upgrade their lineup some more their rotation has gotten a major facelift with Suarez joining Sonny Gray as newcomers to their staff. Pair them up with Garrett Crochet, and that’s a fearsome rotation that New York will have to grapple with.

The current rotation may or may not get more additions, but the rotation of the future might be found today as the international prospect signing period opens up today, and Jake will be tracking the ones that sign with the Yankees throughout the day. Josh takes the time to remember Matt Holiday’s impact on the 2017 team as we celebrate his birthday, and then John covers the athlete who inspired an infamous moniker for the team when José Contreras signed in our free agent series.

Questions/Prompts:

1. How concerned are you about Boston’s new-look rotation after Suarez signed with them?

2. Is there going to be a run on the pitching market soon with some of the most notable names off the board?
